Ilhee Lee takes rain-shortened Bahamas event for 1st LPGA win

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas, May 26 (UPI) -- Ilhee Lee claimed her first career victory Sunday, turning in a round of 5-under-par 42 on a shortened course to take the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic.

Lee's performance enabled her to end at 11-under-par 126, good for a two-stroke victory at the rain-damaged Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis Resort.

Tournament officials truncated the course to 12 holes after it was drenched with a foot of rain Tuesday, which rendered six of its holes unplayable.

The weather conditions also cut the event to three rounds.

Taking sole possession of second place at 9-under was Irene Cho, who carded a 7-under 40.

Anna Nordqvist claimed third place one shot further back with a 2-under 45.

Knotted in fourth at minus-7 were Cristie Kerr (46), Karine Icher, Paula Creamer, Mika Miyazato and Mindy Kim, each of whom registered a 2-under 45.
