TORONTO, May 21 (UPI) -- Alex Cobb hurled 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball and the Tampa Bay Rays used a pair of early homers Tuesday to get past Toronto 4-3.

Cobb (5-2) yielded just three hits, walked two and struck out two for the Rays, who evened their three-game series.

Joel Peralta gave up a run in the eighth, but Fernando Rodney finished up with a five-out save despite yielding a Toronto tally on a ninth-inning wild pitch.

Rodney racked up his ninth save of the season by striking out Melky Cabrera with Colby Rasmus standing on third to end the game.

Kelly Johnson smacked a solo homer in the second and Desmond Jennings added a bases-empty shot in the third while Luke Scott chipped in with a pair of RBI for Tampa Bay.

Blue Jays starter Ramon Oriz (1-2) was roughed up for four runs on six hits in a 2 1/3-inning effort.

Rasmus finished 2-for-4 with a solo homer for Toronto.
