Jimmie Johnson claims record fourth Sprint All-Star Race victory

CONCORD, N.C., May 19 (UPI) -- Jimmie Johnson won his NASCAR-record fourth Sprint All-Star Race Saturday, dominating down the stretch at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Johnson sped past Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kasey Kahne with 10 laps to go and then pulled away, notching a 1.7-second victory over second-place Joey Logano.

Johnson -- the defending champion at the event -- became just the second driver to win it in consecutive years, joining Davey Allison (1991-92) in the regard despite starting the race in 18th place.

Kyle Busch finished third, followed by Kahne and Kurt Busch.

Danica Patrick, who claimed the last slot at the All-Star Race after being voted in by the fans, was the last driver to finish on the lead lap in 20th.
