ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 12 (UPI) -- Roberto Hernandez threw six effective innings Sunday, staking the Tampa Bay Rays to a 4-2 win and three-game interleague sweep of San Diego.
Hernandez (2-4) yielded two runs on five hits while walking two and striking out four.

Jake McGee and Joel Peralta each fired a shutout inning of relief and Fernando Rodney racked up his sixth save of the season for the Rays, who notched a fifth straight victory overall.
Sean Rodriguez and Yunel Escobar each delivered a sixth-inning RBI to erase a 2-1 San Diego lead and James Loney added a solo homer in the victory.
Padres starter Eric Stults (3-3) surrendered three runs on five hits over 5 1/3 frames.
Alexi Amarista homered for San Diego.
