VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 26 (UPI) -- Jonas Hiller took a shutout deep into the third period Thursday and the Anaheim Ducks won for the 30th time this season with a 3-1 decision over Vancouver.
The Ducks have captured three in a row and will join Pittsburgh and Chicago as the only teams in the NHL with 30 wins in this abbreviated season. Anaheim will open the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
Matt Beleskey and Brad Staubitz scored second-period goals to give Anaheim a 2-0 lead heading into the final stanza.
Hiller had his shutout bid spoiled when Jason Garrison scored on the power play with 3:31 left in regulation. Andrew Cogliano ended Vancouver's hopes for a comeback with an empty-net goal that came with 28 seconds remaining.
Hiller finished with 28 saves.
Roberto Luongo stopped 27-of-29 shots for the Canucks, who captured the Northwest Division title this season.
