BOSTON, April 26 (UPI) -- David Ross hit two of Boston's four home runs Friday in a power display that gave the Red Sox a 7-3 victory over Houston.
The Red Sox lashed out 17 hits, 10 of them going for extra bases. Ross hit solo shots in both the second and fourth innings and Boston came up with solo blasts from Will Middlebrooks in the fourth and David Ortiz in the fifth.
Mike Napoli ran his RBI total to 27 in 23 games by driving in run with a double in the third.
Boston won for the fourth time in five games while the Astros fell for the seventh time in 10 outings.
Ryan Dempster (1-2) went six innings to collect the victory, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out 10.
Erik Bedard (0-2) surrendered five runs on eight hits in three-plus innings to absorb the loss.
