SUNRISE, Fla., April 23 (UPI) -- Marcel Goc netted the go-ahead goal and Jacob Markstrom stopped 36 shots Tuesday in Florida's 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers.

Tomas Fleischmann chipped in with a goal and an assist while Drew Shore secured the triumph with an empty-net tally.

Markstrom yielded both New York markers in the third period as the Rangers launched 17 shots on net.

Taylor Pyatt and Derick Brassard each scored and Henrik Lundqvist made 13 saves as the Rangers missed a chance to clinch a playoff spot.

New York still holds the eighth and final post-season seed in the Eastern Conference despite the loss, thanks to Washington's defeat of ninth-seeded Winnipeg Tuesday.
