NBA: Los Angeles Clippers 112, Memphis 91

LOS ANGELES, April 21 (UPI) -- Chris Paul's 23 points and seven assists Saturday sparked the Los Angeles Clippers over Memphis 112-91 in their Western Conference playoff opener.

Eric Bledsoe chipped in 15 points and Chauncey Billups added 14 for the Clippers, who broke the contest open by outscoring the Grizzlies 37-22 during the fourth quarter.

Fourth-seeded Los Angeles -- hoping to bounce Memphis from the playoffs in the first round for a second straight year -- outrebounded its opponents 47-23.

The Grizzlies got 19 points from Jerryd Bayless in a reserve role en route to the loss.

Marc Gasol added 16 and seven assists for Memphis.
