NHL: Washington 5, Toronto 1

WASHINGTON, April 16 (UPI) -- Alex Ovechkin and Martin Erat each logged a goal and an assist Tuesday and the Washington Capitals rolled to their eighth straight win, 5-1 over Toronto.

Marcus Johansson, Troy Brouwer and Jack Hillen also found the net for the Southeast Division-leading Capitals.

Mike Green, Mike Ribeiro and John Carlson each provided a pair of assists to back Braden Holtby, who posted 29 saves en route to the victory.

Mikhail Grabovsky netted the only goal for Toronto, seeded fifth in the Eastern Conference.

Ben Scrivens turned aside 32-of-37 shots in the loss.
