MINNEAPOLIS, April 16 (UPI) -- Al Jefferson helped keep Utah's playoff hopes alive Monday, netting 22 points and grabbing eight rebounds for the Jazz in their 96-80 win over Minnesota.

The victory pulled them one game behind the idle Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

To make the post-season, the Jazz must win their final regular-season game Wednesday at Memphis and the Lakers must fall to Houston -- Utah holds the tiebreaker.

Derrick Williams paced Minnesota with 18 points.
