NEW ORLEANS, April 14 (UPI) -- Shawn Marion and Dirk Nowitzki combined for 40 points Sunday and the Dallas Mavericks reached the .500 mark with a 107-89 win over New Orleans.

Marion netted 21 points and Nowitzki added 19 as the Mavericks -- who have been eliminated from playoff contention -- improved to 40-40, reaching .500 for the first time since Dec. 12.

Vince Carter and Brandan Wright put in 16 points each as Dallas notched a fourth win in five contests.

New Orleans got 20 points and 12 rebounds from Ryan Anderson in its fourth straight loss.
