MLB: San Francisco 10, Chicago Cubs 7 (10 innings)

CHICAGO, April 14 (UPI) -- Hunter Pence rallied the Giants with a score-tying homer in the ninth Sunday and San Francisco went on to overcome the Chicago Cubs 10-7 in 10 innings.

The Cubs had taken a 7-6 lead with two runs in the eighth, but reliever Shawn Camp (0-1) couldn't hold it in the next frame, surrendering a long, two-out solo homer to Pence.

The Giants then broke it open with three runs in the 10th, taking the lead when Camp balked in Hector Sanchez from third base.

Buster Posey and Marco Scutaro added RBI in extra frame, securing the Giants' third win in the four-game set at Wrigley Field.

Pence finished 3-for-4 while Gregor Blanco and Nick Noonan each added two RBI.

George Kontos (1-1) earned the decision with a scoreless top of the ninth and Sergio Romo collected his seventh save.

Starlin Castro went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer while Nate Schierholtz and Alberto Gonzalez also went deep for Chicago.
