NBA: New York 101, Cleveland 91

CLEVELAND, April 12 (UPI) -- A 31-point, 14-rebound effort from Carmelo Anthony Friday lifted New York to a 101-91 victory over Cleveland.

After having their 13-game winning streak snapped by Chicago on Thursday, the Knicks bounced back by taking control in the second quarter against the Cavaliers.

J.R. Smith also had 31 points for New York, making 13-of-16 shots from the field.

Cleveland, which has the third fewest victories (24) in the NBA this season, lost its third in a row. Kyrie Irving scored 31 points with six assists for the Cavaliers.
