NHL: Pittsburgh 6, Tampa Bay 3

TAMPA, Fla., April 11 (UPI) -- Jussi Jokinen and Pascal Dupuis scored less than 2 minutes apart in the first period Thursday, starting Pittsburgh on its way to a 6-3 win over Tampa Bay.

The Penguins won their third straight and expanded their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference to five points over Montreal.

Pittsburgh scored three power-play goals and improved to 15-5 on the road this season.

Jokinen began the scoring 4:07 into the contest and Pittsburgh eventually took a 2-1 lead after one period.

Chris Kunitz tallied early in the second for the Penguins and Pittsburgh poured it on in the third, getting goals from Evgeni Malkin, Brenden Morrow and Tanner Glass. The Penguins went into the game leading the NHL in goals with 132 -- three more than Chicago.

Tomas Vokoun gave up three goals on 18 shots to collect the victory. All six Pittsburgh scores came against Ben Bishop, who made 35 saves.
