MLB: Detroit 11, Toronto 1

DETROIT, April 11 (UPI) -- Prince Fielder drove in four runs as part of a 16-hit attack Thursday that sent Detroit coasting to an 11-1 bashing of Toronto.

Detroit took control with a five-run second inning and went on to win for the fourth time in six games.

Fielder finished off the big second frame with an RBI single, doubled in two more runs in the fifth and added a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Torri Hunter contributed two hits and three RBI in support of Doug Fister.

Fister (2-0) allowed a lone run on eight hits over eight innings for the victory. Josh Johnson (0-1) surrendered six runs on seven hits while retiring only four batters.

Fielder has gone 9-for-19 with 13 RBI over his last six games. Detroit was 7-for-16 with runners in scoring position.
