NHL: Winnipeg 4, Buffalo 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, April 10 (UPI) -- Winnipeg's Andrew Ladd registered a goal and an assist Tuesday, helping the Jets stay in playoff contention with a 4-1 victory over Buffalo.

Kyle Wellwood and Aaron Gagnon also found the net for Winnipeg, which notched a second straight victory following a five-game losing streak.

Bryan Little provided two helpers and Blake Wheeler added an empty-net goal as the Jets improved to 42 points, good for a tie with the idle New York Rangers for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff slot.

Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 29 shots in the win.

Kevin Porter scored and Ryan Miller made 26 saves in the Sabres' loss.
