AUGUSTA, Ga., April 9 (UPI) -- Tianlang Guan, 14, will compete in the upcoming Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Ga., the youngest to ever play in the prestigious event.

The 5-foot-9, 135-pound Guan, of Guangzhou, China, earned the spot by winning Thailand's Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in November, the youngest in that field as well, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

He has been practicing this week at the famous course, and dealing with media questions. When a reporter asked a question in Mandarin, Guan replied in English, the newspaper noted.

Monday Guan played a practice round with two-time Masters winner Ben Crenshaw, who, Guan said, offered advice.

"Enjoy my game," Guan said he was told.
