NHL: Montreal 2, Boston 1

MONTREAL, April 6 (UPI) -- Michael Ryder scored the eventual game-winner and Carey Price made 26 saves Saturday, pacing the Montreal Canadiens over Boston 2-1.

Ryder's power-play goal early in the second period gave the Habs a 2-0 advantage and Alex Galchenyuk also scored as Montreal improved its lead over second-place Boston to three points in the Northeast Division.

Price was busiest in the second period, when he turned aside 11-of-12 Bruins shots en route to the victory.

P.K. Subban assisted on both goals for Montreal, which notched its fifth win in six games.

Daniel Paille scored and Tuukka Rask made 27 saves as Boston, seeded fourth in the East, saw its three-game winning streak snapped.
