NBA: Milwaukee 100, Toronto 83

MILWAUKEE, April 6 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis helped send Milwaukee roaring to a strong first half Saturday and the Bucks clinched a playoff spot by pummeling Toronto 100-83.

Milwaukee leads Philadelphia by six games with six to play in the fight for the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Even if the Bucks should lose every game from this point and Philadelphia wins all of its contests, Milwaukee would claim the playoff berth because it won the season series from the 76ers 3-1.

The Bucks built a 19-point halftime lead and coasted from there with Ellis scoring 22 points. He was just 5-of-14 from the field, but was perfect in 10 tries from the foul line.

Brandon Jennings added 16 points while Larry Sanders had 12 for the Bucks.

Toronto, which had won back-to-back games, got 14 points from Alan Anderson and 13 from Quincy Acy.
