Shadoff part of tie at Nabisco

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., April 4 (UPI) -- Jodi Ewart Shadoff, winless in her three years on the LPGA Tour, found herself tied for the lead Thursday after one round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

In the first major event on the tour this year, Na Yeon Choi and Suzann Pettersen shared the lead with Shadoff at 4-under-par 68.

Shadoff, who played on Britain's Curtis Cup team during her amateur days and who was married two months ago, bogeyed the 16th hole to cost herself the outright lead.

Amy Yang and Anna Nordqvist were tied for fourth place at 3-under 69 while the large group at 70 included Angela Stanford, Jessica Korda, Jiyai Shin and Inbee Park.

I.K. Kim, who missed a short putt on the final green that would have given her the win in this tournament a year ago, slumped to a 75.
