NBA: New York 95, Atlanta 82

ATLANTA, April 3 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony extended his scoring splurge with 40 points Wednesday, sending New York to a 95-82 decision over Atlanta.

Anthony had produced 50 points in New York's victory over Miami 24 hours earlier and hit 17-of-27 from the field against the Hawks.

The score was tied heading into the fourth period, but New York held Atlanta to 14 points over the final 12 minutes while winning their 10th in a row. That streak has boosted the Knicks into a five-game lead over Brooklyn at the top of the Atlantic Division.

J.R. Smith added 19 points for New York and Raymond Felton had 14. The Knicks shot 51 percent from the field and forced 15 Atlanta turnovers.

The Hawks, who had won their previous two games, were led by 25 points from Kyle Korver.
