VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 29 (UPI) -- Daniel Sedin scored Vancouver's go-ahead goal with 8:28 to go in the third period Thursday, propelling the Canucks to a 4-1 win over Colorado.
Vancouver won its sixth straight game, a streak that has vaulted the Canucks into third place in the Western Conference standings.
Cory Schneider took a shutout into the third period and made 30 saves to get the victory. Schneider has been in goal for all six victories in Vancouver's current streak.
Alex Burrows gave Vancouver the lead 4:27 into the contest and that was all the scoring until Matt Duchene provided Colorado's only goal early in the third.
The Canucks then took over, getting the tiebreaking score from Sedin and empty-net goals from both Henrik Sedin and Chris Higgins in the final 1:30.
Colorado, sitting in last place in the Western Conference, lost its fourth in a row. Semyon Varlamov allowed two goals on 18 shots for the Avalanche.
