PHILADELPHIA, March 26 (UPI) -- Rick Nash registered two goals with an assist Tuesday and the New York Rangers helped their playoff chances with a 5-2 drubbing of Philadelphia.
Nash opened the scoring with a first-period marker -- the 300th of his career -- and helped turn back a Philadelphia rally with another goal 7:42 into the final frame.
In between he assisted on a goal by Derek Stepan, who himself distributed three helpers as the Rangers broke a two-game slide and kept pace with the New York Islanders for the Eastern Conference's eight and final playoff spot.
Brad Richards provided a goal and an assist while Chris Kreider also found the net in the victory.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 32-of-34 shots for New York.
Jakub Voracek notched a goal and a helper and Ilya Bryzgalov made 26 saves for the Flyers, who fell five points out of a post-season berth.
