NBA: Minnesota 105, Detroit 82

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 26 (UPI) -- J.J. Barea came off the bench to pop in 21 points and the Minnesota Timberwolves used a huge third period to hang a 105-82 defeat on Detroit.

Nikola Pekovic supplied a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who broke the game open with a 38-16 run in third period.

Luke Ridnour (15 points) and Ricky Rubio (14, nine assists) also reached double figures in the victory.

Detroit got 14 points from Jose Calderon but couldn't avoid an 11th loss in 12 games.

Greg Monroe provided 11 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
