BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., March 24 (UPI) -- Edgar Mejia notched a goal and an assist Sunday in Chivas USA's 4-1 victory over Chicago.
Mejia broke a scoreless tie with a marker in the 57th minute, but the Fire quickly responded with an equalizing tally from Patrick Nyarko.
Mejia struck again in the 75th minute when he found Joaquin Velasquez at the back post for a header that sailed over the head of Paolo Tornaghi for the eventual game-winner.
Juan Agudelo added an insurance tally 2 minutes later and the Goats (2-1-1) got an own-goal from Chicago's Jalil Anibaba to finish the scoring.
The win pushed Chivas USA into a tie for second place in the Western Conference.
The Fire (0-3-1) will have to wait two weeks for another next crack at its first win of the season. Chicago visits New York April 7.
