NHL: Buffalo 5, Toronto 4 (SO)

BUFFALO, N.Y., March 21 (UPI) -- Steve Ott ended a marathon shootout in the sixth round Thursday, lifting Buffalo to a 5-4 decision over Toronto.

Buffalo posted its second straight win and just its 12th of the campaign, second fewest in the Eastern Conference.

Ott beat Toronto goaltender James Reimer with a backhander just inside the right post and Ryan Miller than stopped Clarke MacArthur to clinch the victory.

Buffalo overcame a 2-0 deficit and took a 4-3 advantage early in the third period on the second goal of the game from Christian Ehrhoff. Nazek Kadri tied it for Toronto on the power play with 13:27 to go in regulation.

Miller had 30 saves in the victory. Reimer stopped 32 shots.
