NBA: Houston 100, Utah 93

HOUSTON, March 20 (UPI) -- James Harden and Jeremy Lin teamed to send Houston to a big lead Wednesday and the Rockets held on to defeat Utah 100-93.

Houston had a 19-point cushion heading into the final 12 minutes on its way to a sixth victory in nine outings.

Harden scored 29 points, making just 5-of-14 from the field but downing 17-of-18 from the foul line. Lin had 24 points and six assists. Houston attempted 12 more free throws and made 10 more than did the Jazz.

Gordon Hayward led Utah with 27 points, but the Jazz fell 1 ½ games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
