Aiken wins Avantha Masters

GREATER NOIDA, India, March 17 (UPI) -- Thomas Aiken had a bogey-free round Sunday en route to claiming the title at the European Tour's Avantha Masters in India.

Aiken, who had just two bogeys on the week, turned in a steady 5-under-par 67 in the final round for a 72-hole total of 23-under 265. That was three strokes better that the tournament runner-up.

It was the second European Tour title for Aiken and 10th overall professional title. He's won seven times on the Sunshine Tour in his native South Africa.

Gaganjeet Bhullar, even with a bogey, had an 8-under 64 Sunday and ended up second at 20-under for the tournament. Liang Wen-Chong, who was in second three strokes back of Aiken going into the final round took third at 18-under. He had a double bogey 6 at the sixth hole that he followed with a hole-in-one at the 176-yard No. 7.

Aiken had birdies at the second and fifth holes and added two more with short putts on the par-5 12th and 15th holes. He finished with a birdie at 18.
