CARLISLE, Pa., March 16 (UPI) -- Police said two people died Saturday in the crash of the Seton Hill University lacrosse team bus in Pennsylvania, including the team's coach and the bus driver.
The Cumberland County Department of Public Safety said Kristina Quigley, 30, died at Penn State Hershey Medical Center from injuries she sustained when the bus ran off the Pennsylvania Turnpike and crashed into a tree in near Carlisle, Pa., CNN reported.
Quigley, a Baltimore native who was in her second year as lacrosse coach at Seton Hill, was six months pregnant.
"Her unborn child did not survive," Department of Public Safety said in a news release.
The bus driver, Anthony Guaetta, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The university said 23 people were aboard the bus when it crashed just before 8:50 a.m. EDT. Three were taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, eight went to Carlisle Regional Medical Center, seven went to Harrisburg Hospital and four went to Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.
The team was traveling to Millersville, Pa., for a Division II game against Millersville University.
Mlaker Transportation, which owned and operated the bus, issued a statement saying it "is cooperating fully with police, officials from Seton Hill University and others to assist the student-athletes, coaches and others on the motorcoach."
National Safety Transportation Board spokesman Keith Holloway said the agency had not determined whether it will investigate the crash, CNN reported.
