NHL: Columbus 3, Detroit 2 (SO)

DETROIT, March 10 (UPI) -- Matt Calvert scored on a spectacular shootout goal that provided the difference Sunday in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 3-2 win over Detroit.

After Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk and Ryan Johansen of Columbus traded scores in the first round of the tiebreaker, Sergei Bobrovsky made a save on Damien Brunner's try.

Calvert followed by coming down the middle, faking the Red Wings' Jimmy Howard to the ice, then smoothly sliding the puck past his left pad and into the net.

Bobrovsky then secured the Blue Jackets' fifth straight win with a stop on Henrik Zetterberg.

Derick Brassard and R.J. Umberger scored in regulation and Bobrovsky finished with 21 saves as surging Columbus swept Detroit in a home-and-home series.

Jakub Kindl and Johan Franzen scored for Red Wings.

Howard ended with 19 saves.
