NEW YORK, March 5 (UPI) -- Rick Nash broke a third-period tie with a pair of goals Tuesday and the New York Rangers overcame the absence of Brad Richards to down Philadelphia 4-2.
Nash's first tally 2:50 into the final frame put the Rangers ahead 3-2 and he later added an insurance goal, sending New York to its sixth straight home win against the Flyers.
Ryan Callahan also scored twice for the Rangers, who were playing without center Richards after he was injured on an illegal hit from Buffalo's Patrick Kaleta in Sunday's win over the Sabres.
Kaleta drew a five-game suspension after sending Richards head-first into the boards.
Henrik Lundqvist earned with win with 23 saves.
Jakub Voracek and Wayne Simmonds scored while Ilya Bryzgalov made just 16 saves for the Flyers, whose two-game win streak was snapped.
