ATLANTA, March 5 (UPI) -- NBA legend Michael Jordan Monday asked a U.S. judge in Atlanta to dismiss a paternity suit filed by a Georgia woman, his representative said in a statement.

Jordan asserts the father of Pamela Smith's teenage son, Grant, already has been identified, TMZ reported.

Smith alleges Grant was conceived during a 1995 tryst with Jordan.

"Public records show that the paternity of the child was established in a prior case in this same court many years ago and that Michael Jordan is not the father," Jordan's representative said.

"It is unfortunate that well-known figures are the target of these kind of claims. Michael Jordan will vigorously defend himself and his reputation."
