Flyers' Zolnierczyk suspended 4 games

NEW YORK, March 3 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Harry Zolnierczyk has been suspended four games for a hit delivered to Ottawa's Mike Lundin, the NHL said Sunday.

Lundin suffered a concussion on the play, which came during the first period of Philadelphia's 2-1 win Saturday.

"Instead of delivering a hard legal check, he launches prior to the check, making significant contact to Lundin's head," NHL discipline chief Brendan Shanahan said.

Zolnierczyk was issued a major penalty for charging and a game misconduct.

He won't be eligible to return until the Flyers' March 13 game at New Jersey.
