Other opening-round winners included fifth-seeded Slovak Magdalena Rybarikova, seventh-seeded Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic, German Tatjana Malek, Brazilian wild card Beatriz Haddad Maia, Hungarian Timea Babos, and Spaniard Garbine Muguruza.
