CALGARY, Alberta, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Matt Stajan recorded the go-ahead goal in the third period and Joey MacDonald stopped 30 shots Saturday in the Calgary Flames' 3-1 win over Minnesota.
The Flames broke a 1-1 tie 7:19 into the final frame went he jammed the rebound of a Jarome Iginla shot past Minnesota goalie Niklas Backstrom and later added an empty-netter to ice the victory.

MacDonald, making his third start of the season, turned aside all 11 Minnesota shots in the third period as Calgary broke a two-game skid.
Charlie Coyle scored his first NHL goal and Backstrom finished with 24 saves for the Wild, who suffered their first regulation loss in four contests.
