NHL: New York Islanders 4, Buffalo 0

BUFFALO, N.Y., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Evgeni Nabokov extended Buffalo's losing streak with a 35-save shutout Saturday, guiding the New York Islanders past the Sabres 4-0.

Nabokov was busiest in the first period, when he turned aside all 13 shots he saw en route to his first whitewash of the season and 53rd of his career.

Mark Streit provided a goal and an assist for the Islanders, who racked up their second straight win.

Michael Grabner, John Tavares and Colin McDonald also scored for New York.

Ryan Miller was touched for four goals on 32 shots as struggling Buffalo dropped its fourth straight, including two contests under interim head Coach Ron Rolston.
