Terrell Suggs may skip bicep surgery

BALTIMORE, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs will rehabilitate his torn right biceps instead of face surgery, The Baltimore Sun reported Friday.

Suggs faced the possibility of a second consecutive off-season recovering from surgery, after an operation on his Achilles tendon last year, but with a second opinion on the biceps chose not to have it surgically repaired, a source close to the situation told the newspaper.

The NFL's 2011 Defensive Player of the Year sustained the injury in a Dec. 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and sat out the rest of the regular season. He had two sacks, 10 tackles and two forced fumbles in the divisional playoff game against the Denver Broncos, seven tackles in the AFC championship game against the New England Patriots and two tackles in the Ravens' Super Bowl victory over San Francisco.
