NHL: Philadelphia 3, Winnipeg 2

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Tye McGinn notched the eventual game-winning goal in the third period Tuesday and the Philadelphia Flyers held on to best Winnipeg 3-2.

McGinn's score off an assist from Jakub Voracek handed the Flyers a 3-1 advantage, which proved crucial after Winnipeg's Andrew Ladd tallied with 47 seconds left.

But the Jets could get no closer as Ilya Bryzgalov held firm over the final seconds and the Flyers came away with their second victory in three games.

Brayden Schenn and Kimmo Timonen also found the net while Bryzgalov ended with 24 saves for Philadelphia.

Ladd scored both goals for Winnipeg, which fell to 2-3 in February.

Al Montoya started in net for the Jets, stopping 10-of-12 shots before exiting after two periods with a lower body injury.

Ondrej Pavelec made 10 saves in the final frame.
