NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 92, Brooklyn 83

NEW YORK, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant put in 21 points Tuesday and the Los Angeles Lakers bested Brooklyn 92-83 despite playing without Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace.

Bryant also provided eight rebounds, four assists and four steals as the Lakers stayed hot with their sixth win in seven contests.

Howard missed the game with a shoulder injury while World Peace was serving a one-game suspension, but Los Angeles went on a decisive 10-0 run in the fourth quarter to lock up the win.

Steve Nash chipped in with 17 points and eight assists while Earl Clark supplied 14 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.

The Nets got 30 points from Brook Lopez in the loss.
