Bears: No comment on Trestman as coach

CHICAGO, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- A Chicago Bears spokesman declined to comment on TV analyst Jimmy Johnson's apparent projection of Marc Trestman as a new coach on the team.

Johnson, a Fox analyst who formerly served as coach of the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins, said on his Twitter account that Trestman, who served as quarterback coach under Johnson at the University of Miami and now coaches the Monreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League, will be getting a new job with the Bears, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

"Looks like 2 of my guys getting NFL jobs ... Chud Cleveland and my QB coach at U Trestman to Chicago," Johnson wrote on Twitter.

Rob Chudzinski was named head coach of the Cleveland Browns Thursday.

A Bears spokesman declined to comment on the projection and General Manager Phil Emery has interviews scheduled with at least three prospective replacements for fired coach Lovie Smith this weekend

Johnson has not elaborated on his Twitter post, which did not say for sure if the analyst was talking about the vacant head coaching job.
