NBA: Detroit 89, Cleveland 79

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Brandon Knight led four starters scoring in double figures Monday and the Detroit Pistons used a big first quarter to best Cleveland 89-79.

Knight finished with 17 points and Kyle Singler netted seven of his 15 during the initial quarter as the Pistons outscored the Cavaliers 30-17 to grab a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Tayshaun Prince also put in 15 points, Jason Maxiell added 12 with six rebounds and Greg Monroe hauled down 14 rebounds as Detroit notched its fifth straight home win.

Anderson Varejao supplied a double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds for the Cavs, who went 3-for-20 from beyond the arc while falling for the 12th time in 14 games.
