NFL: Kansas City 27, Carolina 21

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Brady Quinn hurled a pair of scoring passes Sunday and the grieving Kansas City Chiefs broke an eight-game losing streak with a 27-21 win over Carolina.

Quinn went 19-of-23 through the air for 201 yards and no interceptions, hooking up with Tony Moeaki and Jon Baldwin for scoring passes for Kansas City (2-10), which registered its first home win of season one day after linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend and then killed himself at Arrowhead Stadium.

Belcher shot his girlfriend, 22-year-old Kasandra Perkins, multiple times after the two had argued at home Saturday, and then drove to the Chiefs' training facility at Arrowhead Stadium where he shot himself to death.

Head Coach Romeo Crennel, who witnessed the suicide, was present on the sidelines during the victory.

Cam Newton (15-of-27, 232 yards, no interceptions) fired three touchdown passes and ran for 78 yards on seven carries for the Panthers (3-9).
