NBA: Houston 96, Detroit 82

HOUSTON, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Houston's James Harden pumped in 20 points Saturday and the Rockets broke a three-game slide with a 96-82 triumph over winless Detroit.

Omer Asik supplied 14 points with eight rebounds and Marcus Morris added 12 points off the bench as the Rockets posted their first home win of the season.

Toney Douglas contributed 11 points for Houston, which was without Coach Kevin McHale. The Rockets' mentor was placed on a leave of absence before the game for personal reasons.

Assistant Coach Kelvin Sampson guided the team in his stead.

Brandon Knight scored 16 points and Greg Monroe added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Pistons, who dropped to 0-7 to start the season.
