NBA: Philadelphia 77, New Orleans 62

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner both had 14 points Wednesday while sending Philadelphia on a third-quarter surge that brought about a 77-62 win over New Orleans.

The Hornets led by one at the break, but Philadelphia outscored New Orleans 21-10 in the third period and held on to snap a two-game skid.

Philadelphia hit a mere 4-of-22 from 3-point range, shot 41 percent overall and went to the foul line only five times while hitting three.

Holiday added 12 assists and Turner chipped in eight rebounds.

The 76ers limited to New Orleans to 23 field goals for the game and dropped the Hornets to 2-2. New Orleans played without No. 1 draft choice Anthony Davis, who has not seen action since suffering a concussion in the second game of the campaign.

Al-Farouq was the only New Orleans player in double figures with 10 points. He pulled down 16 rebounds.
