NBA: Minnesota 90, Orlando 75

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Luke Ridnour led the way with 19 points Wednesday and Minnesota broke things open in the fourth quarter to defeat Orlando 90-75.

Ridnour made 6-of-9 shots from the field in helping the Timberwolves defeat the Magic for the first time in eight tries.

Minnesota improved to 3-1 and is in the unfamiliar position of leading the Northwest Division.

Orlando was within four points late in the third period, but Minnesota rushed to a 23-point advantage midway through the fourth quarter.

Derrick Williams contributed 14 points for the Timberwolves and Greg Stiemsma had 12.

Orlando has lost two in a row after starting the year with two wins. JJ Redick paced the Magic with 16 points. Orlando hit 16-of-20 from the foul line, but made only 28-of-80 from the field.
