NEW YORK, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Blake has been fined $25,000 for "inappropriate" comments he made toward a fan during a game, the NBA said Tuesday.

Blake reportedly exchanged words with a fan last Friday late in the Lakers' 105-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. He also spoke to the fan after Blake fouled out of the game. The comments were said to contain profanities.

Blake started that game in place of the injured Steve Nash. He had eight points and two assists before fouling out.

He was 2-of-6 shooting, which apparently drew the original comment from the fan.

The NBA cited Blake for "directing inappropriate language toward a fan."
