NBA: New York 100, Philadelphia 84

NEW YORK, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony put in 27 points and J.R. Smith helped out with 20 more Saturday in the New York Knicks' 100-84 win over Philadelphia.

Smith also grabbed nine rebounds while Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton combined for 23 points as the Knicks improved to 2-0 to start the season for the first time in 13 years.

New York finished the first half with a 13-5 run for a 57-44 advantage and the Sixers wouldn't mount a challenge thereafter.

Philadelphia got 27 points and seven assists from Jrue Holiday in the setback.
