NEW YORK, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Brook Lopez scored 27 points Saturday and the Brooklyn Nets posted a 107-100 decision over Toronto in the first game at their new Barclays Center home.
Lopez connected on 3-point play with 59 seconds left, putting the Nets ahead 100-97 and giving them enough of a cushion to provide a victory in their first-ever game in Brooklyn after relocating from New Jersey.
The occasion was postponed from Thursday when the Nets' scheduled first home contest was called off due to the damage Hurricane Sandy wrought on New York.
Joe Johnson potted 14 points and C.J. Watson went 6-of-9 off the bench for 15 points as professional sports returned to Brooklyn for the first time since the baseball Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1957.
The Raptors were led by Kyle Lowry with 28 points and eight rebounds and DeMar DeRozan added 25 points.
