MLS: New England 1, Chicago 0

FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Diego Fagundez netted the game's only goal Saturday and New England frustrated Chicago's hopes for a conference title with a 1-0 decision over the Fire.

Fagundez scored in the 17th minute and the Revolution (8-17-8) held on to take its final home game of the season.

Patrick Nyarko came closest to scoring for Chicago (17-11-5) in the 52nd minute from the edge of the penalty area, but his volley went wide of the net.

With the loss and Kansas City's draw against New York, the Fire lost any chance of claiming the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
