Second-seeded Maria Sharapova didn't lose her serve in a 6-2, 6-2 romp past Sorana Cirstea and qualifier Polona Hercog just got by Ekaterina Makarova 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) in a 2-hour, 49-minute match. Those matches completed the second round. Sharapova and Hercog are paired against each other in the third round.
